Common questions
FaveNest is not in Share
On iPhone or iPad, tap Share in any app, scroll the row of apps to the end and tap More, then Edit. Add FaveNest to Favorites and it stays at the front from then on. On Mac, open Share in a supported app and use Edit Extensions if FaveNest is hidden. Apple only lets you manage these lists yourself, which is why we can’t set them up for you.
My library is not syncing between devices
Both devices need the same iCloud account with iCloud Drive switched on. FaveNest Settings shows you what has synced and whether your account is reachable. The first sync on a new device can take a few minutes over Wi-Fi.
A reminder didn’t arrive on another device
Each device signed in to your iCloud schedules the reminder for itself once it has synced. A device where you have never set a reminder delivers it quietly to Notification Center at first, so open FaveNest there while a reminder is ahead and allow banners and sound when it asks. If notifications are off for FaveNest, the reminder on the item’s page says so: turn them on in Settings > Notifications > FaveNest on iPhone and iPad, or System Settings > Notifications > FaveNest on the Mac.
The reader shows a shorter version
FaveNest keeps a readable copy of an article on the device that saved or opened it. When another device has no copy yet and can’t load the page, it shows the text kept when the page was saved, without its headings or lists. Open the article once while you’re online, or tap Try Again, and that device keeps the full copy for offline reading too.
How do I add a widget or a control?
On iPhone and iPad, touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose FaveNest. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold it and tap Customize. Controls go in Control Center: open it, tap the plus button, then Add a Control, and search for FaveNest; on an iPhone with the Action button, choose Controls under Settings > Action Button. On the Mac, Control-click the desktop and choose Edit Widgets. While your device is locked, FaveNest’s widgets hide titles and pictures.
Titles and summaries are not appearing
Written titles and summaries are part of FaveNest Pro, and they need either Apple Intelligence switched on and ready on your device, or your own API key set up under Settings > Intelligence > Cloud Model. Without one of those, you get a plain title and the page’s own description instead. Your save never waits on it.
How do I use my own OpenAI or Anthropic key?
With Pro, open Settings > Intelligence > Cloud Model, pick OpenAI, Anthropic or an OpenAI-compatible service, paste your key and tap Test Connection to check it. On a device with Apple Intelligence, choose whether the cloud model only steps in as a fallback or handles every save. The key is kept in your keychain and carried to your other devices by iCloud Keychain, end-to-end encrypted; Remove Key takes it out again. The provider bills your own account for what the model reads.
The cloud model stopped writing titles
Open Settings > Intelligence > Cloud Model and tap Test Connection. It tells you whether the key was accepted, whether the model name exists and whether the service answered, so a revoked key or a renamed model shows up there instead of as a library that quietly stopped improving. While the service turns requests down, a save keeps a plain title and the page’s own description, the same as it would without a model.
Ask is missing or dimmed in Search
Ask shows up as soon as you type in Search, as a row that offers to ask what you typed. It is part of FaveNest Pro: without Pro the row carries the Pro mark and opens the plans. With Pro it also needs a model on that device, either Apple Intelligence switched on and ready, or your own key under Settings > Intelligence > Cloud Model. Without one of those the row stays dimmed and says what it needs.
I bought Pro but the app is not showing it
Open Settings, tap FaveNest Pro and choose Restore Subscription. Purchases are tied to the Apple Account that made them, so check you are signed in to that one. A purchase shared through Family Sharing restores the same way.
How do I cancel Pro, or get a refund?
Manage or cancel FaveNest from the Subscriptions screen in your Apple Account settings. You keep Pro until the period you have paid for runs out, and everything it already wrote stays in your library. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — we cannot issue one ourselves.
A map link did not turn into a place
FaveNest reads the location out of Apple and Google Maps links. If it can’t read one, the item stays in your library with the original link intact, so you can try again. Nothing gets dropped.
FaveNest is not on my Apple Watch
FaveNest for Apple Watch comes with the iPhone app. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, find FaveNest under Available Apps and tap Install. If the watch says Waiting for iPhone, open FaveNest on your iPhone once to send your library over. Notes and spots you save on the watch reach your library through your iPhone, even while it’s locked. Near You is part of FaveNest Pro, which the watch picks up from your iPhone.
How do I bring my saves from another app?
Export your library from the other app first: Savespace, Pocket, Raindrop.io, Instapaper and Pinboard each have an export, and Safari exports from Settings > Apps > Safari on iPhone and iPad, or File > Export Browsing Data to File on the Mac. Then choose Import from Another App in FaveNest under Settings > Data & Backup, or in the File menu on the Mac, and pick the file. Its How to Export list walks through each app. You see what’s in the file before anything is imported, and anything already saved is skipped.
What can I ask Siri?
Say “Search FaveNest for running shoes” to open Search on that term, or “Save this page to FaveNest”, “Save a note to FaveNest” or “Save this PDF to FaveNest” to keep something without opening the app. The same actions are in Shortcuts. Saving works from the Lock Screen, but looking through your library waits until your device is unlocked, so Siri asks you to unlock first.
I want a copy of my library
Open Settings and choose Export Library under Data & Backup, or File > Export Library on the Mac. FaveNest writes your whole library, original files included, to one backup you can keep anywhere and load back in later with Import Backup.
How do I delete everything?
Deleting the app clears it from that device. To clear the synced copy too, delete your items in the app first, or turn FaveNest off in your iCloud settings and manage the storage from there.
Requirements
An iPhone on iOS 26 or later, an iPad on iPadOS 26 or later, or a Mac on macOS 26 or later. FaveNest for Apple Watch needs watchOS 26 or later and an iPhone with FaveNest. Syncing needs you signed in to iCloud. Written titles and summaries, and Ask, need FaveNest Pro and either a device that supports Apple Intelligence or your own OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenAI-compatible API key; saving, syncing, search, reminders, the reader, widgets and export are free and work without any of that.
Reporting a bug
Tell us what you saved, what you expected and what happened instead, plus your device and operating-system version. If one particular link or place caused it, sending that along helps. Never send us anything you’d rather keep to yourself.
